3x Shadow Bolts to the face!

More pwning from last night... I was questing in Felwood this time, in Jadenaar. I was running my guys to Shadow Hold to complete a quest when I saw a 54 mage, which was 3 levels higher than myself. Normally I would stop to kill him, but I just wanted to level so I targeted him on my main (just to see if he's going to target and attack my guys) and kept on running.

As soon as I past him, I saw him targeting one of my secondary guys and next thing I knew, I ate a POM/Pyro to the face. I immediately sent in the Felguards and casted my Shadow Bolts. That was too much as he went down like a sack of shit. My guy survived the POM/Pyro with about 1/4 health left, but it left me with great satisfaction that I'm able to give those assholes some lesson in biting off more than you could chew.

I'm almost certain that if I was solo he would have had me. But since I wasn't, he got pwnd!

Downing my first level 70

The other night I logged my team in Gadget since they were questing in Un'Goro. After they were logged in, I grouped them and left them at the inn while I went to make dinner. After about 15 mins, I come back to find them all dead inside the inn. I was fuming. I checked the combat log and found that a character named Krasow (sp?) had killed me. Then he was fighting one of the bruisers... and killed one. After a while, he got killed by the guards. So I'm thinking he's got to be at least 70, but I wasn't sure.

So I rezzed, re-buffed and pulled out my Felguards. I went outside town and sure enough, the same warrior was attacking a mid-40 Alliance just beyond the flight master. He killed the poor Alliance guy and proceeded to ride away. I went up and death coiled him and sent in the Felguards. Then I placed my 9 dots on him and proceeded to Shadow Bolt and Drain Life. Before I know it, he's killed one of my guys but then went down himself. He was at about 85% health when I attacked him.

I ran her back really quick and was able to kill him again twice after he rezzed. It was easier this time since he was only at half health after the rezzes. Then he just logged because I waited for a while for him to rez again. After that I armoried him and found out that he was level 70! Woot! He wasn't severely undergeared, but more so than the warriors I normally run around with on my main. That was exciting!

Fun in Shattrath

Here's my team having a little fun in Shattrath. With 5 guys, I know I can create a star using Health Funnel. But with only 3, this is the best I can do. So here it is:

Team Felguard Reaches Level 50!

Well, it finally happened... Team Felguard now has some Felguards!!! I hit level 50 on all 3 locks last night in Un'Goro Crater. As I was turning in the quests to level up, I got ganked! All 3 were taken out by a 70 rogue. I had to bring my 70 lock over and pwn that guy a few times just to teach him a lesson. In any case, here's the first picture of them with their new Felguards in Menethil Harbor:

Team Felguard Talents

Here's the current build for Team Felguard. It's mostly Affliction with 5 points in Demonology for Demonic Embrace. WAIT! you say... Team Felguard is Affliction spec?! WTF?! Haha... well that's easy to explain. Affliction is very good for leveling until you are able to get the Felguards. Once I hit 50, I plan to re-speccing to get my Felguard. I'll have to wait a few more levels to get instant Corruption back, but I'm not your average lock... there are 3 of me! I figure 3 Felguards beating on anything with even just 3 Curse of Agony or me wanding will go down pretty quickly. It will only be better once I get that instant Corruption back. About the only thing I would want from Affliction after the Felguards would be Fel Concentration for draining. :-)

Leveling Strategies

I've decided to change my leveling strategy a bit. Before I would do most of the quests that are yellow, orange, or red and even the green ones for XP. I tended to do all of them too, even if the collection quests were a pain in the ass because of low drop rates or whatever. Now that I'm concentrating on leveling as quickly as possible, I'm trying something new.

Since I basically know that at level 58 I'm heading to Outlands and getting the awesome gear out there, I really don't need many of the quest rewards from Azeroth. So now that my guys are 43/44, I'm hanging out in Tanaris (the disparity is because I had to use a main to farm for some gear out of Zul'Farrak (Zumrah's Vexing Cane and Bad Mojo Mask). Those items were exceptions because the mask will make them look at the same (and it has good stats) but the cane is simply awesome and will be used for the next 15 levels at least. My new strategy is to do quests in the zone I'm currently in that are kill quests or other easily obtainable objective quests (Gadgetzan Water Survey quest for example). I'm skipping most collection quests unless I know for a fact that the drop rate is extremely high (for an example, see Encrusted Tail Fins). Let's see if this will increase my leveling rate any.

I have a sneaky suspicion that it will.

Ganking in Black Rock Mountain

So last night I decided to take my team to BRD and do a little power leveling using my brother's 70 warrior. I knew that at level 43 they were low for the zone so I expected a lot of aggro from the mobs. To my surprise, that wasn't that big of a deal actually. Yeah, I got mob aggro, but they didn't hit that much harder. What I was surprised about was the ganking by level 70 horde inside Black Rock Mountain. Sheesh... you would have thought they had better things to do. I was even kind enough to wave because I didn't want to waste time PVP'ing... just wanted to gain a level or 2. But those dickheads made short work of my team so I decided to just leave. BRD was OK for the few minutes I did it... getting about 200 XP per kill, but it wasn't coming as quickly as when I was running through Zul'Farrak. Oh well.

I should have taken down their names for future reference. :-)
